Masataka Otomo

Profile

Masataka Otomo joined a specialized trading company in 2015 after completing his master's degree, where he worked on business development initiatives that included sourcing and developing relationships with overseas suppliers. In 2018, he joined SBI Investment, where he was involved in launching corporate venture capital funds and investing in startups both in Japan and abroad, contributing to several exits. He later joined Aflac Ventures Japan, focusing on supporting startups and fostering business collaborations from a corporate perspective. After working at QB Capital to support the commercialization of university-originating technologies, he assumed his current role in January 2026. Outside of work, he enjoys following the strategic gameplay of the M.League during the week and hiking in pursuit of scenic mountain views on weekends.
