Toyota Invention Partners (TIP), launched in October 2025, is Toyota’s strategic investment firm. The word “Invention” in our name reflects Toyota’s origins, which began with Sakichi Toyoda’s invention of the automatic loom, and is also embodied in our Group vision: “Inventing our path forward, together.”

As Toyota continues its transformation into a mobility company, TIP will build long-term partnerships through investment with companies and startups that create new inventions, contributing to the expansion of mobility. At the same time, TIP will serve as a catalyst within the Toyota Group, creating connections with innovative, cutting-edge technologies.

For nearly 20 years, I have been involved in global investment and supporting the growth of startups. The speed and agility of startups bring Toyota new perspectives and opportunities to take on new challenges. At the same time, Toyota’s assets and expertise can provide strong support for startups to scale and expand their businesses. By expanding TIP’s investment stages and further strengthening our focus areas, we aim to create value for society through the partnerships we build.

Toyota also has Toyota Ventures and Woven Capital, which lead its startup investment activities and together provide a framework spanning early-stage, later-stage, and long-term strategic investments.
